Qualifications for Participations


1.   Students complete co-op application and turn in by set date.  Only 20 students are accepted into the program.  Applications are placed in numerical order as received. The following items are included on the application:


*Basic student information

*Career objective

*Three teacher references

*Employment history

*Outline of rules/regulations signed by student and parent/guardian

*Typed Resume

 

2.   The first twenty applications received are reviewed by coordinator to determine eligibility.  Subsequent applications are reviewed as space is available due to non-eligible applicants.  Requirements determining eligibility are:

*Must pass all core subjects – State of Alabama requirement.

*Must have an overall 70 average - State of Alabama requirement.  (No Pass-No Play Rule)

*Must be in good attendance (not having more than 5 unexcused absences during any one semester of the previous school year) – Mandated by the State Department to follow board approved school policy

*Must not be a discipline problem – State of Alabama requirement.

 

3.   Interviews are then scheduled with students to discuss application, determine job preferences according to career objective, and work availability.
